Bowl-a-Rama… Herf-a-Rama… NYC…YEAH!

Being of Polish origin, you’d just assume several things about me right off the bat – half of them involving six guys changing a light bulb and the second half involving kielbasa and pierogies. Well let me tell you about the third half, and that is about a Pole’s favorite pastime, a little game known as kegeling to some, and, bowling to the rest of the world. Now it’s a known fact that we people of the Warsaw variety have bowling in our blood – there’s also a lot of vodka and cigar smoke as well, but bowling seems to be the game of choice for my people. Damn, I remember uncle Stosh once rolled a 298 with both arms in a cast (okay, yeah, he fell off the ladder changing a bulb, you happy?) Now while I am certainly bragging about our expertise in the alleys, I unfortunately have to admit that I, personally, am the worst bowler in all of creation… let’s just say I suck like a Hoover.

Quite sometime ago I vowed never to bowl again when my daughter at the time was 9 years old and beat me by 30 pins. I was officially through with renting crazy blue shoes and smelling of lane oil – I mean I swore off the game of my ancestors for good! And then something amazing happened… I found out about a spectacular event being held by Midtown Cigar in New York City, coming this May, and the bowling bug has bit me once more! Just when I was out, they pulled me back in!

Seems that the good people at Midtown Cigar are throwing a bowling / cigar event – the likes that no one has ever seen before! Bowlmor Lanes in Times Square is allowing the invasion of an army of cigars smokers for one night on May 18^th… TWO FLOORS of bowling and cigar smoking to accommodate 600 herfing lovers of the leaf!
